About UW Golf Engineering

"The Golf Engineering Club at the University of Washington was founded on the principle that the best way to learn as an engineer is through hands-on experience."

After meeting with a Head Engineer at TaylorMade, founder Will Hand with the help of founding members proposed an innovative approach: using AI-analyzed video footage to design and mill putters customized to individual players. Founded in Winter 2025, the club quickly grew to roughly 15 members who spent Spring 2025 working in CAD to develop and 3D print putter prototypes.

In March 2025, discussions began between Sportsbox AI and UW Golf Engineering, culminating in an official partnership in October 2025.
